![]() They may not have wanted to but were left with no choice because of his record and his reputation in his hometown, and also because he had no other choice but Shujin.Īs for no contact, no where in the game has it stated that their parents never contacted them. ![]() The only thing we got was just Sojiro assuming they found him a pain in the ass so they shipped him off. Also, note that we never really got to know what his parents think of this arrangement. Maybe they have prior commitments in their town, like jobs or businesses to run or relatives to take care of, or maybe relocating their entire family to Tokyo for a year just wouldn't be reasonable. As for why they don't move to Tokyo with him, could be a few reasons. But it's been mentioned a few times that Shujin was the only school that was willing to take Ren in, so his parents probably didn't have a choice but to send him to Tokyo. Ren's situation is more complicated because I'm also not familiar with the Japan legal system. Not to mention Dojima is already taking care of Nanako so he already has the parent role down. Dojima on the other hand still seems quite close to his sister, Yu's mother, since he mentions her fondly and he still remembers who Yu is so they've probably kept in contact over the years. Also he was still a minor back then so they couldn't possibly leave him by himself alone in Tokyo. Considering it was only a year, I don't think it'll make sense for them to uproot their son to live in a new country for just a year. I forgot whether or not they mentioned where Yu's parents went but it could be overseas for all we know.
